Ethical Issues in the Workplace Student’s Name Task 1 Helen is facing a big problem and challenge as well. This ethical concern can be termed as a challenge rather than a problem since it has not taken a side that can be considered as a problem. The challenge is evident and if the alteration of the financial statement to suit the demands of the customers. Unethical dimension will not only affect Helen’s professional career, but also the career of the people in senior positions in XYZ Company. Based on the case of Enron Company the mistake done by David worse hated other senior employees who were later charged and dismissed from the Company. Although the consequences of negative action that Helen may take will destroy the reputation of the Company as well as those of the stakeholders, it will hit Helen as an accountant much worse as she will face charges and also stripped accounting license by the board. The ethical issue that affects the public is not informing them of the correct information concerning the company that could have helped them to make decisions of investing or not. For the case of unethical conduct of Helen, she will have broken various codes of ethics or the key principles. One of the principles that the stakeholders are threatening of Helen is integrity. Changing the financial statements is considered as unethical behavior in accounting and an act of dishonest to the public and the Accounting professional in general.
